20 Apr 2008 - NUT Industrial Action Update
Dear all
NUT Industrial Action
I have been officially advised that the industrial action will be going ahead this Thursday. As this affects 50% of our teaching staff, and members of other teacher and support staff unions are being advised not to undertake cover supervision for colleagues participating in the strike action, I have no choice but to partially close the school on Thursday. Children in Bradley and Forde class only will be able to attend school on that day – children in Courtenay and Templar classes will not be able to attend school. Please do not send children from Courtenay and Templar into school on that day as we will have to send them home again as there will be no one available to supervise them.
I appreciate that this will cause a level of inconvenience for all of our parents, and as I mentioned in the newsletter I am included in this aspect as both of my children will be off school that day due to the strike too! However, I know that you will understand that this decision has not been taken lightly, and that I have acted on advice from the Local Authority, all of the teaching unions and of course our Governing Body.
With best wishes
Susan Rowe-Jones
