6 Jun 2008 - First newsletter of new half term!

June 6th 2008

Dear all

Welcome back everyone, and I hope you all had a restful half term.  There’s a mixed bag of news in this letter – ranging from teaspoons to new babies!  Read on…

Welcome

We welcome a new addition to the All Saints (Marsh) family with the arrival of Freya May – a new sister for Amber and Kaiya.  I know you will join us in congratulating the whole family!

We also welcome Sally Rudkin to our team of support staff this half term.  Sally will be working in Forde class alongside one of our pupils, and has also recently moved to the Newton Abbot area.  I know that you will all make her feel very welcome here in our happy school.  Finally, we welcome Taylor who joins us in Bradley class!  Taylor is Sally’s son, so another family concern here at All Saints (Marsh) begins!

Moving on

Mrs Paylor-Sykes and Mrs Ware have both decided to move on from All Saints (Marsh) to full time positions in other schools – Mrs Paylor-Skyes will be taking up a post with increased responsibility, and Mrs Ware will be working closer to home.  We will of course be saying goodbye to them properly in true All Saints style closer to the end of term, but in the meantime I know you will join me in sending congratulations to both of them and wishing them all the best for the future.

We have already advertised for the vacant position, and have received a very high number of quality applications, and will be conducting a selection day in June.  The parents of our new Foundation Stage children will have a chance to meet the lucky teacher at the meeting on July 2nd, and of course I will let you know once the decision has been made by the panel following the selection day.

Teaspoons

Mrs Armstrong was left with only one teaspoon in the kitchen in the week before half term!  Please help us to help her by sending children who have packed lunches with a teaspoon to eat their yoghurt!  It’s so easy otherwise for the children to forget to put the school teaspoon back, and take it home.  Someone out there must have loads of spare teaspoons – so we’ll have an amnesty!

Outdoors

The children will be spending more time outside in this half term (weather permitting) so please make sure they have sun cream applied before school, have school hats and a school water bottle to take to the MUGA with them.  Hats and bottles are available from the office.

School uniform

Part of being a successful school with high standards of behaviour involves all children coming to school in full school uniform.  This is as important this half term as it was at the beginning of the year, so please support us by making sure that your child is dressed appropriately in our full school uniform every day.

With best wishes
