22 Oct 2009 - Swimming for Bradley after half term!
October 22nd 2009
Dear all
Swimming lessons Bradley class
Bradley class will be having swimming sessions at the leisure centre for the next six weeks (starting Monday November 2nd first day back!) and in order for this important activity to go ahead we are asking you for a contribution of at least £1 per week towards the cost of the coach and swimming teacher. This can be paid weekly into the post box, or you can pay for all weeks at the same time. This would amount to a minimum of £6. Under the 1988 Education Act we can only ask for contributions of the sum requested. No child will be treated differently according to whether they have contributed or not. However, if we do not receive sufficient contributions the sessions will have to be changed and only go ahead for the children who cannot swim and are in KS2. Swimming is a vital but expensive part of the curriculum the cost to school is over £126 per week so your £1 a week contribution is absolutely vital if we are to continue to offer this under the current system.
Please ensure that all children are appropriately dressed for their own health and safety. Girls need to wear a one piece costume (not a bikini) preferably dark in colour and boys need to wear trunks (not baggy shorts) again, preferably dark in colour please. All children will need a named towel.
Please return the attached by Friday October 23rd.
With best wishes
